Maybe you already know that WordPress is what you need for your website because it’s flexible, powerful, easy to maintain, integrates well with social media, and is optimized for SEO. You’re sold, and you aren’t running to the clunky “builders” for your professional project. If that’s true, but you just don’t know where to start, you have a few different options:
- Dive in and install WordPress on your own hosting, learning as you go. This was how I did it because there were no courses when I started my first blog. I can assure you, this is doing it the hard way. 🙂
- Take a course. If you need a good course on how to use WordPress, I highly recommend the WP101 series. (If you purchase the series through my link, I may receive a commission at no additional cost to you.) Also see my list of valuable blogging resources.
- Hire a designer/developer to build your WordPress theme from scratch and possibly pay them to maintain it.
The first two options put you in total control, hopefully with the result that you’ll be inspired to do what you’ve wanted to do all along. Online instruction can help you make it happen, but you’ll be the one to pull it off.
If, on the other hand, you’d rather have someone do it all for you, I have personally worked with and can recommend Lee Media Group in Rose Hill, Kansas. They are a full service agency and offer WordPress design, development, writing, social media, and marketing services.
*I no longer offer WordPress instruction or website setup because I’m just too busy these days with blogging projects. But if you have quick questions or just want more advice on where to start, I’m easy to reach by email: Contact Carolyn
